7 ways to reset for the new year

 Posh Skin Care

Good skincare doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. It just needs to be part of your routine. Reboot your skin for the new year with these easy rituals and restore your radiance all year long. (Fellas, this means you, too!)

Wash your face every night

If you want healthy skin, nightly face washing is a must! It gets rid of skin-destroying free radicals as well as makeup, oil, dead skin cells, and other gunk from the day, that can cause irritation, inflammation and breakouts.

You leave your skin more receptive to your nighttime treatments, so they can deliver greater benefits. Washing your face every night for at least one minute may prevent these.

Exfoliate

Healthy skin completely renews itself every 25 to 30 days. The process can cause a buildup of dead cells that leaves skin dull and dry or causes blemishes (or both!). Exfoliation speeds up the turnover rate to reveal newer, fresher, and healthier skin that's radiant. Skin exfoliation should be done at least once per week but no more than 3x per week.

Turmeric Lemon Face Scrub

Reset frazzled skin with toner

You might think of toner as strictly for oily or acne-prone skin. And that’s basically what it used to be. However, toner has evolved. You can now find toners that would make essential additions to your dry skin toolbox.

Adopt a hydrating toner as the next step in your routine after cleansing. Like all toners, it will help restore healthy pH and enhance your skin’s absorption of actives from other products. At the same time, a good one will provide its own dose of nutrients in a lightweight layer that easily permeates the skin.

Rose Hydrating Toner

Fortify regularly with serum

If you skip serum and go straight to face cream, you’re missing out on the opportunity to make your skin very happy. Think of serums as supplements you apply to skin before cream. They are highly concentrated, yet very low viscosity so readily assimilated by your skin.

Powerhouse Duo

Feed your skin a well-rounded moisturizer

While serum acts as a supplement for your skin, moisturizer provides a hearty meal. Particularly during winter, make sure you’re serving the kind of succulent feast your face craves. Not only do you need to consider moisture and actives, but also how well your face cream seals and protects your skin.

Anti Aging Cream

Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher

There really is no better skincare habit to protect against hyperpigmentation,  premature aging and skin cancer, including melanoma. Don’t just rely on the sunscreen in your makeup either, since you probably don’t apply it heavily enough to give you the protection you need, and it won’t cover all the exposed areas of your body.

How much sunscreen is enough for your face?

Clean and replace makeup

Acne-causing bacteria can lurk in your makeup. Your skincare routine should include cleaning makeup brushes once a week and replacing makeup regularly. Replace foundation, concealer, powders, blush and eye shadow at least once a year. Toss lipstick and lip gloss after six months, and mascara and eyeliner after three months.
